Smaller and quieter than Richmond Park, Bushy Park is a haven for nature lovers who want to enjoy the surroundings without competing with busy cyclists and tourists. Bushy Park is perfect for long, peaceful walks, whether you’re out strolling alone, enjoying a leisurely wander with friends or family, or taking your dog for some exercise. The wide, open spaces and tree-lined paths make it easy to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and simply soak up the natural surroundings.

If you’re walking with your dog, be mindful of deer birthing and rutting seasons, when dogs must be kept on a lead for their own safety and the safety of the deer. Even outside these periods, it’s wise to leash dogs with a strong prey drive or those still learning recall.

One highlight is the Waterhouse Woodland Gardens, a beautiful space, in all seasons, that bursts with wildlife. At the entrance, the Pheasantry Café is ideal for a coffee and a snack. Their brownies are a particular… and naughty treat. Next door, you’ll find a hatch offering pup cups and dog treats. However, dogs aren’t allowed further into the gardens, which are a protected, tranquil space designed to safeguard ground-nesting birds and delicate habitats.
