Kingston is set to host the world premiere of the adaptation of the sensation that has gripped the literary world.
Fresh from the furore of speculation about author Elena Ferrante’s true identity, the Rose Theatre will stage My Brilliant Friend, a two-part adaptation of her Neapolitan quartet of novels. Directed by Melly Still and adapted by April de Angelis, previews begin on February 25 and it runs until April 2.
The show leads the Rose’s new season which comes hot on the heels of its acclaimed run of Good Canary directed by Hollywood icon John Malkovich.
The season also includes world premieres of Sandi Toksvig’s comedy Silver Lining from February 3 to 11 and musical Junkyard, from April 19 to 30.
Other winter highlights announced includes adaptations of Roald Dahl’s The Twits over the Easter holidays, Michael Rosen’s We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, as well as Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s Room on the Broom and The Scarecrow’s Wedding.
